Privacy

Pomelo counts your days in each country, on your phone. It has no server, so this page is short. It says it in plain English anyway.

Your location stays on your phone

Pomelo uses your location to work out which country you are in. It does that on the device, using border maps built into the app. No coordinate is ever sent to us or to a lookup service, because Pomelo makes no network calls for it at all.

• With Always permission, iOS wakes Pomelo a few times a day, when you have stayed somewhere or moved a long way, even with the app closed. Pomelo also checks when you open it and when its widget refreshes.
• Pomelo never runs continuous GPS and does not follow your route.
• What it keeps is the day, the country, how it was noticed, and a rough position rounded to about a kilometre, so you can see why a day was counted.
• Say no to location and Pomelo still works: you add stays by hand.

No account

There is no sign-in, no email address, no password and no profile. Nothing identifies you to us, because there is nothing to identify you to.

Where your days live

Your days, stays and rules are one file in Pomelo’s storage on your iPhone, shared only with Pomelo’s own widget. It is covered by your device passcode and by whatever iPhone backup you already use.

• We cannot read it. It is never uploaded.
• Back up in Settings writes a copy to a file you choose where to keep, such as Files or iCloud Drive. Export CSV (Pro) goes wherever you send it.
• Reset everything in Settings deletes it. There is no undo. Deleting the app deletes it too.

Purchases

Pomelo Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through In-App Purchase. Apple takes the payment and tells the app whether you own Pro. That check with Apple is the only thing Pomelo talks to the network for. We never see your card, your Apple ID, your name or your address.

Notifications

If you turn on alerts for a rule, Pomelo schedules a local notification on your phone when you reach 80 % and 100 % of it. Local means it never leaves the device. Pomelo only asks for this permission when you first make a rule.

Analytics

This version sends nothing. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no tracking and no third-party SDK collecting anything in the background.

If a future version ever adds optional, anonymous product counts, it will be off unless you turn it on, and this page will say so before it ships. Your location will never be part of it.

This website

No analytics, no advertising, no cookies, and no fonts or scripts loaded from anyone else. The site is static files on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs.

Children

Pomelo is rated 4+ and collects nothing from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app and this page will say so before the change takes effect.
